(1) Before you start, make sure you have a ruler, scissors, a gluestick, a craft knife and something to cut on. (2) Cut out all the components, cutting just slightly inside the red lines. (3) Starting with the owl, score along all the yellow dotted lines. (4)Take the craft knife and cut along the red line at the bottom of the owl’s beak. Also make sure that you have cut along the small red dotted lines that will make the ears (these are on pieces next to the face) (5) Fold along all the scored lines to make sure that you have scored them all and to get a feel of how the owl will assemble. (6) Now take your glue stick and start applying the glue to the tabs and sticking them down - the numbers show the order that we recommend you do this in, We recommend applying glue to tabs 6, 7 and 8 all at the same time as they can be tricky to reach if you do them one by one. (7) Take particular care with the final front tab, this will need holding down for a while to ensure that it glues properly. (8) Tweak out the ears and fold up the feet and he is done! (9) Now onto the envelope - score along the yellow lines. (10) Then make a slit along the red line. (11) Glue down tabs 1 & 2 being careful not to glue to the inside of the envelope. (12) Now choose your card, score along the yellow line and write in it if you wish. (13) Take the 2 box pieces, and score all the yellow lines. (14) Write the name and address of your valentine - be sure to disguise your handwriting. (15) Glue the box together, in the order that the tab numbers indicate. (16) Slip your chosen card inside the envelope, and close using the little slit you have cut. (17) Pop the envelope into the slit underneath the owl’s beak. (18) Place the owl in the box and deliver to your true love. (please note that you will need a more robust box if you are planning to send by mail!)
